THE BRIEF

I was solely responsible for the complete rebrand of Around DB and Life on Lantau, taking both publications from their existing identities and giving them a fresh, contemporary direction. The project covered everything from logo redesign and visual identity through to editorial layouts, typography, colour palettes and overall page structure.

The goal was to modernise both magazines without losing the strong sense of community at their core. I introduced cleaner typography, bolder use of colour, stronger imagery and more considered layouts, creating a clearer visual hierarchy that makes articles easier to navigate and more enjoyable to read.

While each magazine was given its own distinct personality, the redesign established a more cohesive and recognisable editorial style across both titles - modern, colourful, approachable and designed for the way people read today.

I kept the design deliberately restrained, working with the studio’s warm neutral palette, soft grey typography and established RR identity.

Generous spacing and a simple editorial structure give the photography room to breathe and create a calm, sophisticated experience throughout the site.
